My first post. This is the first time I'm blogging. I really didn't think I would be blogging. One thing I hated most was to write ( also to type something ) , then why the hell am I blogging ........... I saw few talented people and I had to tell it to the world how talented they are. please excuse my English and grammar. I know I'm bad but I still can convey what I want to say.
I have a friend Vishwanath malipatil( all friends believe he will be CEO of a company for sure ). He said me, his brother is gonna be in a competition held on 7th October. I thought okay lets go and see any how I'm free these days (I'm no job no girlfriend no problem kind of a guy so always free). More importantly I love quizzing ( I mean being the audience ) .
Vishwa had called me to be there at palace grounds by 1 'o' clock though the quiz was at 4. I had arrived almost on time but vishwa wasn't there. I was sitting on the bench waiting. Few people came and gave pamphlets obviously I threw it away but it was excellent time pass reading it until vishwa arrived. I finished reading them and had nothing else to do so I called him to find out where he was and i came to know he is just in front of me. I got acquainted to his mom and dad ( nice people ). Then i got acquainted to a important persons vishwa's brother Manjunath Malipatil and his team mate Kashinath Handiganur ( Vidyabharati High School Talikoti ).
Why did i call them important persons......... the reason is they have been qualified for the gulbarga zone to represent in rural IT quiz. What so special about that.......... let me tell u these to student are of 10 std they hail from a Kannada medium school they defeated all the English medium school teams from 7th std to 12th std and that's not easy job. Thus they are important persons.
Now let me go straight to the quiz. The quiz started around 4:15 pm are so and the host obviously one who is associated with TCS ( conductors of the quiz ) for long time called as the Pick brain ( Giri Balasubramaniam ). Excellent host ........known by all ........ needs no introduction.
The quiz began with the first round – ‘Global Bytes’ that had questions on the history of computing, to people & products from the world of IT, followed by ‘Quick Bytes’ - a rapid fire round on the buzzer, ‘Lateral Bytes’ - an audio/video round requiring lateral thinking, ‘Bits & Bytes’ - a round of crisp animated clues where team had to think on their feet and the final round aptly named ‘Last Bytes’ – on the buzzer, as the teams cracked the answer based on the clues.
To tell u the truth I and vishwa together could get only few answers write ( don't ask how much its embarrassing ) but we were amazed by the amount of knowledge these people had. I was born in city, I had lot of exposure to the world this is what I thought but this kids proved it wrong......... these kids are far more knowledgeable that's what we were amazed about. They all hail from rural areas ( obviously it is rural it quiz ) and That's something great.
Okay lets go to winners............ Prashanth Pai & Snehith Periera – SMS PU College Brahmavar emerged state champions with an superb show. The team from Devrath ND & Surya V – MKET PU College Harihar were the I Runners-Up, with Kashinath Handiganur & Manjunath Malipatil – Vidyabharati High School Talikoti coming II Runners-Up.
Why did I highlight II runners up
1)Bcoz its vishwa's bro on the team.
2) These 2 are only 10th std students all other five teams were of 12th std students.
3) Other teams were of English medium.
So they are pretty good and I'm sure they will be back next year and I'm sure they will win first price.
U know the most important thing not to forget is that there were 12 lakh student all over karnataka participated in prelims and they have defeated them to become top3 team in karnataka........... now that's impressive.
